Welcome to the GLK 2024 Summer Tournament
|
We are pleased to be hosting this years summer tournament and are happy to welcome you to it.
At this years tournament we welcome teams from U7s - U12s across 2 days of football.
We are running an online scoring system again, which will be updated as soon as results are received. This will enable almost "live" results on your smartphone, along with fixtures and standings. We are hopeful this is a smooth and seamless process but please be patient.
Please support all Players and Teams, respect the tournament officals and referees.
Please remember this is a Youth football tournament provding children a safe environment to play.
GLK hope you have a great day and enjoy the football.

All ages will participate in a group stage with all teams playing each other once in the group.
After all games have been played the top 2 at the end of the group stage will qualify for the knockouts. Knockout Formats for groups: Semi Finals 1st in Group A V 2nd in Group B 1st in Group B V 2nd in Group A Final Winner of Semi-Final 1 v Winner of Semi-Final 2
If teams are level on points and have the same goal difference at the end of the group stage the team with the MOST GOALS SCORED will finish higher however if the most goals scored are level, it will go to a head-to-head game to decide who goes through. Points will be: 3 for a win 1 for a draw Nothing for a loss
There will be no half times or additional times in the games. Once your game has ended, please leave the pitch so that the next game can be played. Game times in the group stages will be 10 minutes across all age groups. However, in the semis it is increased to 12 minutes and in the final. If scores are level in a knockout game after the allotted time, it will go straight to penalties. Teams will get 5 penalties each unless the shootout is won before the teams have taken all 5 penalties i.e., 3-0 after 3 penalties each. If scores are level after 5 penalties each it will go down to sudden death.

Tournament Rules for under 7’s & 8’s
|
It will be 5 aside for 7s and 8’s. Subs can only be put on when the manager has made the ref aware of making a sub when the ball is out of play.
At goal kicks the opposition must retreat to the halfway line and can’t go past the halfway line until the ball is kicked.
Throw in, ball obviously must be behind the head when going to throw it and try to encourage the kids to keep their feet on the ground.
There will be no violent behaviour towards the refs from parents; players or managers otherwise that individual will be removed out of the tournament. We don’t want that behaviour at our tournament so what the ref says goes.
Goal kicks can be taken from the edge of their box.
For Under 7’s, 8’s pass backs to the goalie ARE allowed. If there is a colour clash between teams the team that is away on the fixture will have to wear bibs.
Match ball will be supplied by the home team of the fixture.
